The wash cycle seems quiet, but as the spin speeds up, the machine bangs, shakes the floor or moves out of place. This does not always mean a major component has failed: laundry gathered on one side or an uneven installation can cause the same symptoms. If strong shaking continues with a suitable load, a washing machine technician should check the installation and mechanical parts.
A little vibration as the drum accelerates can be normal. Walking across the floor, repeated impacts against the cabinet and a sudden increase in vibration are not. Do not try to hold a running machine in place.
A single heavy towel, a duvet or tangled sheets can collect on one side when wet. The imbalance becomes more noticeable as speed rises. Overloading the drum and washing a small number of heavy items can both upset its balance. The kilogram rating on the appliance is not the limit for every programme: follow the load allowance for the selected cycle in the manual.
If one foot does not touch the floor properly, or its adjustment has not been secured, the cabinet can rock during spinning. A soft or flexible floor can also amplify vibration. Contact with a wall, cabinet or hose behind the appliance can make the noise worse. Pieces of cardboard, wood or thick soft padding do not replace correct levelling.
If a newly installed or recently moved machine shakes violently on its first spin, the transport restraints need checking. They keep the tub secure during transport and must be removed as specified in the installation instructions before use. Do not remove random screws from the rear panel: bolt positions and quantities vary by model. If unsure, stop using the machine and contact the installer.
A machine that used to run steadily but now bangs with an ordinary load may need its shock absorbers, suspension springs, counterweight fixings and drum assembly checked. A rumbling or scraping sound may involve the bearings, but sound alone is not enough to decide which part to replace. Inspection and testing are needed to establish the cause.
A machine that moves can pull on water and drain hoses, strain their connections and damage the floor or nearby furniture. Repeated impacts may also increase wear on mechanical parts. Stop the programme if there is heavy banging, a leak, a burning smell or obvious movement of the cabinet. Do not restart spinning until the cause has been checked.
You can find information about help with household faults on the 166 Usta home page. For a shaking washer, the sensible starting point is the load and installation, followed by internal inspection if required.
Water remaining in the drum, excessive foam or an error code may point to a separate drainage or detergent issue. They do not automatically mean the shock absorbers have failed. Use detergent intended for automatic machines at the recommended dose; do not open the filter while the appliance contains hot water or is full of water. A lower spin speed can suit some loads, but it does not repair a mechanical fault.
Note the brand, model, programme and selected spin speed. Explain whether the problem started after installation, a move or a long period of normal use. Mention the type of laundry, whether it happens on every wash, any error code, leaks and unusual sounds. An existing short video can help, but do not run a faulty machine again just to record one. Clear the area around the appliance so it is accessible for inspection.
The technician first assesses the load, levelling and installation. Depending on the symptoms, the shock absorbers, springs, counterweights, bearings and other relevant parts are then inspected. This helps avoid replacing a part simply because the appliance is noisy. The proposed work is explained, and after repair the machine is tested on a suitable cycle for noise, vibration and leaks.
If correcting the load has not solved the problem, avoid repeatedly restarting the spin cycle. For washing machine repair and diagnosis, call +994 50 274 92 92 or send a request through our contact page. Share the model and symptoms so we can arrange a suitable time for inspection.
