If an AC runs for a while and then shuts off suddenly, a protection mode may be activating. The unit can stop to protect itself from overheating, voltage fluctuation, fan faults or sensor errors.
This is especially common in summer when the outdoor unit works under strong sun and dust or poor airflow makes the load worse. Do not keep restarting it before an air conditioner technician finds the cause.
The unit may cool for 5-20 minutes, then stop and restart later. Sometimes the indoor unit keeps running while the outdoor unit stops; sometimes the whole system shuts down.
Knowing when the shutdown happens is a major diagnostic clue. If it repeats, a technical cause should be checked.
A dirty outdoor coil cannot release heat properly, so the compressor works harder. If the fan is weak or the unit is installed in a tight area with poor airflow, protection shutdown can occur.
Voltage fluctuation, loose contacts, sensor faults and control board issues can also create the same symptom. Low or incorrect refrigerant conditions may prevent stable compressor operation.
You can check whether objects block the outdoor airflow, note how long the unit runs before stopping, and record any error code. Turning the unit off and trying again later is only a temporary test.
Do not open the outdoor unit, touch electrical contacts or interfere with refrigerant lines. 166 Usta can check airflow, fan, sensors and electrical parts safely.
Call a technician if the AC stops after the same period every time, the outdoor unit becomes very hot, or an error repeats. Delaying diagnosis can place extra load on the compressor.
A technician checks pressure, current draw, fan operation, sensors, coil condition and board response together. Without that, cleaning or remote settings alone may not solve the problem.
Keep outdoor airflow open, schedule seasonal cleaning and avoid forcing the lowest temperature for long periods. Pre-summer maintenance can catch shutdown problems before peak heat.
If your AC turns off by itself, call 0101230166 or use the contact page. Early diagnosis protects cooling performance and compressor safety.
Overheating, voltage, sensor, fan or outdoor unit problems may activate protection mode.
One test is reasonable, but repeated forced restarts are not recommended.
Repeated overheating and shutdowns can stress the compressor, so diagnosis should not be delayed.
